In May 2019 RSD were hired by Grange Quarry Ltd to supply 10,000m3 for a new biomass fuel storage facility in East Yorkshire. RSD were involved from the design stages by selecting suitable aggregates, cement source and admixtures for the client, then arranging preparatory laboratory trials.
Pavement quality concrete produced by RSD was then layed over a period of 3 months. RSD also designed an additional hand lay mix and a C28/35 mix for construction of an onsite weighbridge at the request of the client mid contract
Testing was carried out by RSD on the customers behalf throughout the contract. Cubes were made on site, densities were recorded on site, and cubes were delivered weekly to Grange Quarrie’s laboratory in Lockerbie. Compressive strength results were issued to the client by laboratory staff on a weekly basis. Analysis of results was carried out by Dascon Consulting to monitor and report trends in strength and yield throughout the contract.
The contract was completed on schedule without any problems relating to supply or quality
This project is an example of the service RSD can provide through established relationships with other industry professionals, and the additional resources and pre contract support that we can provide.
On the logistics side the plant arrived on site in May from its previous location in the London area and was commissioned and calibrated within two days ready for supply. On completion of the contract plant was disassembled, removed from site and relocated for a short maintenance period before its next job. Our ability to turn plant around quickly in this way provides maximum service, maximum efficiency and minimum disruption for our clients
