Cemfloor – Liquid Screed
Cemfloor is a high-performance, cementitious, self-levelling flowing screed that is primarily applied by pumping and finished with a dapple bar. Installation should only be carried out by Cemfloor-approved specialist contractors to ensure proper application.
Placement and Finishing
Delivery and Pumping: Cemfloor is delivered in a ready-mix truck and pumped into the designated area using a specialist pump.
Flow Test: A flow test is conducted on-site to ensure the material has the correct consistency (typically a flow of 220-260mm). Water may be added in small increments if necessary to achieve the target flow.
Spreading and Dappling: The screed is poured in sections and spread using a wide serrated spatula or dapple bar. The surface is then dappled twice, with the second pass at 90 .
Underfloor Heating Commissioning: UFH can be commissioned to speed up the drying process no sooner than 7 days after installation, following a specific gradual heating and cooling procedure.
Final Preparation: Unlike calcium sulphate screeds, Cemfloor does not produce a layer of laitance that needs sanding. However, the surface may require light abrasion to remove any building residue and ensure a good key for floor finishes. The moisture content must be checked before installing floor coverings, typically requiring a relative humidity of no more than 75%.
