  • New solutions – larger pours
  • Full health and safety compliance
  • Very satisfied clients

For this project, Grange was invited to supply concrete to the Stranoch Wind Farm, which included several high-volume pours in excess of 800 m³. Volumes of this scale present significant challenges for mobile concrete operations, particularly in relation to supply rates and on-site material storage.

To address these constraints, Grange worked closely with McCrory to develop a larger mobile batching plant. This collaboration led to the acquisition of a new plant specifically designed to meet the increasing concrete volumes required for wind turbine foundations. The plant features four aggregate bins and a 3 m³ mixer, enabling substantially higher production capacity.

The operation was further supported by Grange’s Mobile 2 plant, also manufactured by McCrory, providing additional resilience and continuity of supply.

By enhancing the delivery process in this way, Grange successfully maximised volumetric output while maintaining a compact plant footprint. This integrated approach has delivered a more efficient and sustainable concrete supply solution, ensuring Grange continues to meet the growing demands of large-scale infrastructure and wind farm projects.

From the outset, Grange Quarry proved to be a reliable and professional partner. The mobile batching plant was a game changer for our project. having onsite batching gave us a level of flexibility, control and efficiency that traditional supply methods simply cant match. The setup was smooth and impressively fast. Their team arrived well prepared, and it was clear they had the process science. Grange Quarries mobile batching solution also reduced waste and minimised transport delays. It was cost effective and environmentally sound, helping us hit our sustainability goals. The staff were knowledgeable, professional and easy to work with. They understood the demands of our site and worked closely with us to adapt to our evolving needs. That level of service and responsiveness made a real difference. Grange has provided us with over 12,500 cubic metres of concrete for our 20 turbines.
